I know I shouldn't be complaining. At least we did get some nice weather finally. And who doesn't love 75 degrees and sunny? Even if it is on September 24th. Thing is, I love the seasons of New England. Well, I don't love winter other then that first snowfall and during the holidays. But all in all, the transition into Spring, with all the little green things poking out of the ground makes me so happy. When the Summer heat rolls in, with it's long days? I'm in love. The crispness of an Autumn day, kicking through leaves on the sidewalk is perfection. Being at home with a fire in the fireplace while snow softly falls outside? Is the only time I like Winter. But three out of four ain't bad!
What I don't like is the weather messing with my head. Never mind it messing with people's lives. (See this post from Carolyn...Online who describes it best.) I admit to being a little freaked out by the changes in Mother Nature's script over the past few years. It will be interesting to see if we humans can actually make a positive impact on the Earth, as we've kind of been screwing it up for some time now.
A random branch of red in a sea of green. I'm ready. As long as it isn't two weeks of Autumn followed by an early snowstorm that starts a wretched winter. If that happens all bets are off and we're moving to Florida.

I think we're getting out last dose of really nice weather this weekend (we even had to turn the air back on!)and then, from the looks of all the breezy clouds, rain drops and dropping temperatures on the extended forecast every night, fall is really kicking in next week. I've been watching our neighbor's tree turn progressively redder every day and I dread the arrival of winter with every leaf that turns!
I love that you think 75 in September is hot. Love. That. I mean it is hot for New England and all but... we hit 90 yesterday. I'm just jealous that you even have seasons. Sigh.
We're SUPPOSED to have 4 seasons here as well...But the Fall really never happens...Just kind of hangs out for three weeks and just dives head first into winter. Which I HATE. I would have no problem wearing shorts at Christmas....
There's nothing like a suck summer to bring the property value of a year down. Of course, I live in LA, so I don't know what you're talking about. It hit triple digits for a couple of hours on Monday.
Up on my side of Canadaland it's been unseasonably hot for the last week. Of course, this is an El Nino year which means it will start raining soon and not stop until next summer.
Come on down!!!!!!!!!!!
Love, Nana and Papa :-)
i'm beyond ready to cover up my legs. Bring on the sweater coats sister
Yes - the bi-polar weather gets kind of old. For me, it's cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon and muggy all day. I think I'm ready for Fall.
Although I hate dressing kids in colder weather. Too many items to get on them (adding socks and coats is kind of a bummer).
Love, love, love autumn. It's my favorite time. We're in the 80's in the Midwest with cool nights.
I'm waiting patiently for the leaves to turn.
um? the school year should end at July 4th and start again at Columbus day.
just saying.
Location-wise, I'm right between Octopunk and C.D. and we're supposed to hit 102 today and then 78 tomorrow.
It's going to feel downright cold after all this heat!
But C.D. is right. It's supposed to rain all winter, which after 3 years of drought, I could get used to.
Oh we're going alright
We've finally hit the south side of 90 just this week. Thank goodness! I am ready for sweater weather.
